Leadership for Excellence in Education
General Information about the Summer Short Course - The course is one of the L.E.A.D.S. Professional Development activites inteded to bring some new perspectives to current issues facing education, and in particular senior administrators.
The course is a requirement for the registration of L.E.A.D.S. members. Part of the program, therefore, consists of organizational and professional issues particularly directed at new members. It is also an opportunity for other partners in education to share their issues and concerns with a view to developing a better understanding and appreciation of the partnership role that all organizations play in providing a quality education for the children in the schools of this province.
Participants are encouraged to bring their families, and events are planned which include their participation. The course has been generally perceived as an excellent forum for learning from and sharing ideas with other administrators. A relaxed and motivational setting brings together new members of L.E.A.D.S., with those who are more experienced, to develop friendships and networks crucial to effective administration.
